Another Group Photo taken outside Japanese Garden before heading backto the bride side for tea ceremony
On this date,16 March 2009, a big day special occasion of my best buddies from secondary school who has gotten married. It a special moment and big occasion day for him. It my second time being brother in the wedding in my growing year and there be more in the next few year down the road. Still remember on that particular day, where my two other buddies and me din sleep in the night to prepare the stuffs for our groom. From washing the car right in the middle of the night interior and exterior of the car (had fun along the way). Ironing our own clothing, 2 sets, one for the morning and one for the dinner in the evening.
This is because our grooms n the brides both of them are teochew cultural and hence the tradition of the wedding ceremony is to bring fetch the bride or be at the bride place before the sun is out. Therefore, we arrive at the groom house at around 4.30am in the morning. his parent had prepared light break first for us. After our break first, at around close to 5am, the grooms 3 other buddy from his National Service came and we proceed downto put on the ribbon to the door of the car. A total of 3 cars excluding the wedding car which is a white Merc car.
we proceeded and hence arrive at the bride house and a loud car horn is being sound with the intention to announce our arrival. (hehe, not sure if we have also waken up the neighborhood or nt. haha). Anyway, we roughly know what to expect before we arrive at the bride place as I was the one who help to prepared one of the sabo itenery item which the bride side sister will come up with. The 6 brothers had this strange feeling of who we gonna meet and what the challenges that will come. As for me, I am thinking on the bridegroom side who are the sister that she engage to torture us and the three of us including the groom isn't sure who the sister were and that kept us pondering for quite a while while on the way travel to the bride house. Hence to our surprise, our curiosity and guessing are unveiled. There 4 pretty ladies dress in white inside the house with the gate closed. My two buddies, the groom and I was shock to two of the sister were someone whom we all know for many year since secondary.
But it wasn't easy either, we kana a lot of sabo from these two who know us very well. But nevertheless, we manage to conquer them.
Other then that it the normal procedural of the whole ceremony, goes back to the groom side for tea ceremony, then go Japanese garden for shooting purposes, then the couple change into their Chinese customary wear to go back to the bride side for the tea ceremony etc. As usual our task of being the brother or sister is to follow around and see where we can help. hiazzz. so tiring but it worth the tiredness for our newly wed couple. Rest in the afternoon, over at the hotel which the couple had gotten for us to stay overnight. It was so nice of them and his parent to get us a room in the hotel, as we were told that high chance tonight that we will be helping him to bottom up any table who required the groom or bride to drink up during the night event wedding banquet. We were not spare to just enjoy their dinner, me and the two good buddies and the four sister were task to do other stuffs at the reception and other menial task.
What can I say, this night all of us had so much fun and of cause, toward the end when all the guest have left, we make the groom and his wife bottom up and we manage to finish up at least 4 bottels of hard liqour and 3 jug of beers. Of cus our very good friend Peipei and Szehwa stay with us while we bottom up for drinking as they were also quite worry for us in case any of us went down. But thank goodness, we were able to handle our liquor well after months of training session few month back. After which we all proceed back to our hotel room, but that not the end of the show as we went over to our newly wed couple executive suite to take picture as their room is really big and spacious which can hold at least more then 10 pax. Hence me and two other brother plus Peipei and Szehwa went in to disturb the couple and chit chat and took lots of photos.
